How to Run a Home Poker Game Without Spreadsheets

Most home poker games start the same way. A group of friends, a couple of decks of cards, a bag of chips, and someone volunteering to keep track of the money. Agree the format before anyone sits down

The most common source of disputes is not the maths, it is the rules. Before the first hand is dealt, agree on the buy-in amount, whether rebuys are allowed, the maximum stack, and how cash-outs will be handled if someone leaves early.

Track every buy-in the moment it happens
